Before Elle Woods, there was Lorelei Lee, a blonde from Little Rock, Arkansas, who sails to Europe with her friend Dorothy to perform in a nightclub in Paris. But make no mistake this blonde is a businesswoman of the first class. Featuring beloved songs like “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” this classic musical is sure to be your “preferred” choice for the summer.

Kyle Adkins (Ensemble) just made his debut on the MGR mainstage in Legally Blonde. He is a veteran of the MGR Youth Theatre, having appeared in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), Just So Stories, and There Once Was a Longhouse, among others. He is also the Co-Playwright, along with Rachel Carrozziere, of Emilia and the Heart of the Amazon, which will return for its second touring season in the fall. Roberto Araujo (Ensemble) is thrilled be a part of MGR's season this year. His favorite NYC credits are: Jackson Heights 3am, Street Lights, Angelina Ballerina – The Musical and Aida at The Metropolitan Opera. Molly Jean Blodgett (Ensemble) is thrilled to be returning to Merry-Go-Round where she has previously been seen in Kiss Me, Kate and My Fair Lady! She has also previously been seen in NYU productions such as Thoroughly Modern Millie (Gloria), Violet, Sweet Charity, and Nine. Other favorite shows include A Chorus Line (Judy), Crazy for You, and 42nd St. She has just graduated from NYU-Tisch School of the Arts (Cap21) with a BFA in Drama. Geno Carr (Gus), seen this season as RF Simpson in Singin’ in the Rain, is honored and grateful to return for his 17th musical at MGR. Favorite credits here include The Producers (Leo), The Full Monty (Harold), Forever Plaid (Sparky), South Pacific (Billis) and Peter Pan (Smee). Off-Broadway: Bush Wars. Randy Charleville (Josephus Gage, u/s Beekman) is thrilled to be making his MGR debut! He toured in the South American Company of Phantom of the Opera, appeared Off-Broadway in Rasputin and Definitely Doris and has appeared in numerous roles at Broward Stage, Hollywood Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Papermill Playhouse, North Shore Music Theatre, Helen Hayes Theatre, Actor's Playhouse and Kansas City Starlight. Andrew DiConcetto (Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of the Merry-Go-Round season! Originally from Bethlehem, PA, Andrew received a BFA from NYU’s CAP21 musical theatre program. Most recently he was seen performing for Norwegian Cruise Line in the Caribbean and Hawaii. Other credits include CATS (National Tour), Babes in Toyland (Lincoln Center), About Face (NYMF festival), and West Side Story (Allenberry Playhouse). Elizabeth Earley (Dorothy) is blessed to return to MGR (for her 11th show!) after touring the US & Canada with the 1st & 2nd National Broadway Tours of Mary Poppins. Elizabeth’s last performance here was in 2009’s A Chorus Line as Cassie (SALT award nominee). Annali Fuchs (Ensemble, u/s Lady Beekman, Mrs. Spofford) is so excited to be returning to the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse! She was last seen on the MGR stage as Margaret in 9 to 5, and in My Fair Lady. She recently graduated from SUNY Cortland with a degree in musical theatre, and was last seen on the Cortland stage as Princess Winnifred in Once Upon A Mattress. Amanda Funiciello (Ensemble) is ecstatic to be making her Merry-Go-Round debut in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes! Most recently, Amanda was seen in Talent Company’s productions of Suds (Cindy) and Grease (Patty Simcox), as well as Town of Manlius’s West Side Story (Maria). She has also performed in Syracuse Stage’s productions of The Sound of Music, Christmas Carol, and Fiddler on the Roof. Amanda would like to thank her family for their love and support, as well as the cast and crew for an outstanding show!

Abigail Gatlin (Ensemble, Gloria, u/s Dorothy) is thrilled to be making her debut at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse! Most recently she was seen performing as a Rockette in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Favorite credits include Bombalurina in CATS, Marty in Grease, and Guildenstern in Hamlet. Suzanne Ishee (Mrs. Ella Spofford) Since June 2012, Suzanne has been playing “Mother Abbess” in Sound of Music in productions at Stages St. Louis, The Paper Mill Playhouse and North Shore Music Theatre. She is thrilled to “break the habit” and play another kind of mother in MGR’s delightful production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Previously, she has appeared on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera, Showboat, La Cage aux Folles, Mame, national tours of Jerry’s Girls and Wizard of Oz, Off-Broadway in NYC Opera’s Merry Widow (PBS), LUST, numerous world premieres, endless regional theatre productions, as guest artist for symphonies & concert series worldwide. As playwright, she has premiered Searching for Spinoza, America’s Singing Sweethearts, Jack and Jill. Suzanne is an Emmy and Drama Desk Award winning producer. She was the Creator and for 8 years produced Broadway’s Easter Bonnet Competition and has produced events worldwide including for Carnegie Hall and two Inaugural Balls in DC. She is President of the Center for Creative Placemaking in NJ, (CenterForCreativePlacemaking.com) and serves on Sustainable Jersey’s Arts Task Force.
Amanda LaMotte (Ensemble) has been seen at MGR in Singin' in the Rain and Legally Blonde this summer. Favorite past credits include - National tours: CATS (Kitten Swing), Dragon Tales Live (Emmy). Regional: Music Man (Agnes), A Chorus Line (Kristine), Hello, Dolly! (Ermengarde), Bye, Bye, Birdie! (Kim), Grease (Frenchy). Robert Miller (Mr. Esmond, Ensemble), SAG-AFTRA member, is appearing in his 14th role at MGR with characters ranging from the ridiculous (Dindon in La Cage aux Folles) to the sublime (Strauss in Titanic). He has performed in regional music and theater since 1976 and with his wife, Beverly, has created and produced numerous musical children’s plays. He is a member of and occasional soloist with the Masterworks Chorale, and a frequent open mic performer in the Auburn/Syracuse area.
Jeanette Minson (Ensemble) is excited to be making her MGR debut! Recent credits include George M! (Agnes) at Westchester Broadway Theatre and Big: The Musical (Miss Watson) at First Stage. Jeanette was also named one of “Broadway’s Rising Stars” and performed in concert at The Town Hall. BFA NYU/Tisch. Terry Palasz (Lady Beekman) is delighted to return to MGR after debuting in Singin’ in the Rain! NYC credits include: Williamsburg the Musical! and Emma! (NYMF). Regional: Damn Yankees with Carson Kressley (Ogunquit Playhouse), Hairspray, NINE and Fiddler (Westchester Broadway), Oliver, My Fair Lady (John Engeman) and she recently completed a Comedy Central pilot with Gallagher. Emily Palmquist (Ensemble) is proud to call herself a 2013 MGR Season Company Member! She was most recently seen in MGR's production of Cabaret (Kit Kat Girl), directed and choreographed by Brett Smock. Jamie Patterson (Ensemble/Coles) was last seen at Merry-Go-Round in Singin' In The Rain and Legally Blonde! Originally from North Carolina, Jamie studied dance at Wake Forest University and North Carolina School of the Arts. Ruth Pferdehirt (Lorelei Lee) A life-long blonde, Ruth could not be happier to make her Merry-Go-Round debut as Lorelei! Recent credits include Dory in Finding Nemo: The Musical, Paulette in Legally Blonde (Gateway Playhouse), Lina in Singin’ in the Rain, Vicki Nichols in The Full Monty and Audrey in Little Shop Of Horrors. Ruth has performed at the St. Louis MUNY as Mae in The Pajama Game, Ernestina Money in Hello, Dolly!, and in Godspell. She is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan. Joel Robertson (Sir Francis Beekman) was featured in the Broadway production of Jekyll and Hyde as the Bishop of Basingstoke, directed by Robin Phillips and the movie starring David Hasselhoff, directed by Gerry Zaks. He was in the original Production of Parade directed by Hal Prince at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center and received standing ovations for nine years in Les Miserables, and six years as an original cast member of Cats both directed by Trevor Nunn and played Fyedka in the Broadway and National touring production of Fiddler on the Roof at the NY State Theatre starring Herschel Bernardi and directed by Jerome Robbins. Recently he was Max in Sunset Boulevard at the Gateway Playhouse and Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. He has also thrilled audience as Santa Claus in Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular in Chicago. With his wife and co-founder he created ATC Studios, a New Jersey non-profit conservatory for the dramatic arts in 1990 (ATCStudios.org) and continues to bring vision and quality to those programs, launching the careers of hundreds who dare to dream.
Ethan Saviet (Ensemble) is thrilled to be spending the summer working on MGR's season. He is currently a junior at Syracuse University studying musical theatre. He most recently appeared in the SU drama department's production of Violet playing various roles. He would like to thank his family and friends for their endless love and support.
Rachael Scarr (Ensemble, u/s Lorelei) just received her B.F.A. from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts in May where she studied musical theatre at CAP21 and was also an honors scholar. Rachael is a Skaneateles HS graduate and is thrilled to be returning to Auburn for her seventh show with MGR. Shawn Smith (Ensemble, u/s Henry/Gus) is thrilled to be making his MGR debut in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes! Most recently Shawn has appeared in Almost, Maine at the Buffalo Laboratory Theatre. He was a member of Cortland Repertory Theatre's 2011 intern company, appearing in Chicago, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced. He attended the University of Buffalo where he appeared in Rent, Cabaret, The Threepenny Opera, Drood, and the world premiere of It Goes Like it Goes: The Music of David Shire. Joseph Wood is so excited to perform in his first MGR Production! He will be entering his senior year of High School in the fall at AHS and plans to pursue a career in Musical Theater. Recent roles include Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Scrooge in A Yuletide Ballad, and Dean in All Shook Up.
